KAGAMI is run by Kvasir Media (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use kagami.chat and oracle.kagami.chat, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. In short: we keep what Kagami needs to know you and read your charts, we don’t sell your information or show ads, and you can download or delete everything from your settings at any time.
What we collect
Account details
Your email address, and if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and profile picture they share (with Apple you can hide your email). We don’t store passwords: you sign in with Google, Apple or a one-time code we email you.
Your birth details and charts
The birth date, time and place you give us, and the charts calculated from them. Without an account, birth details you enter on the chart pages are used to calculate the chart and aren’t saved, though they appear in the page address so charts can be shared, and our hosting provider may keep a cached copy of a calculated chart without anything that identifies you. With an account, your own birth details are saved to your profile.
Your conversations with Kagami
The messages you send and Kagami’s replies, including any chart wheels in them, are saved to your account so you can come back to them. For each reply we also record which AI model wrote it and how much it cost to produce.
What Kagami remembers
To give personal readings, Kagami saves things you tell it in conversation: your profile (such as the name you go by, where you live, your interests and how you like replies), notes and memories, your goals and work, and the people in your life. Each change Kagami makes to these records is logged, so you and we can see what changed and why.
People you tell Kagami about
When you mention a partner, family member, friend or colleague, Kagami may save their name, how you know them, notes about them and, if you give them, their birth details, so it can read their chart with yours. Please only share what you’re comfortable sharing about someone else.
Location
Our hosting provider estimates your city from your IP address; we use it only to label the “sky right now” and don’t store it. If you allow it, your browser’s precise location is used to cast a chart for a question you ask (a horary chart, which depends on where you are). That chart, including the place, is saved with the conversation. We never ask for your location in the background.
Place searches
When you search for a birthplace, the text you type is sent to our servers to find matching places.
Technical information
Our servers and hosting providers automatically record basic request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- To calculate your charts and transits, and to write Kagami’s replies and readings.
- To remember what you’ve told Kagami, so later conversations are personal.
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To run, monitor and protect the service, prevent abuse, manage costs and fix problems.
- To respond when you contact us.
We don’t sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your conversations to train AI models.
Shared links
You can share a conversation by link. Anyone with the link can read the conversation as it was when you shared it, without signing in. Chart wheels in it are shown without birth dates, times or places, and nothing else Kagami knows about you is included. You can update the link or stop sharing at any time; a stopped link stops working within about a minute.
Who processes it
We use a small number of providers to run KAGAMI. They process information only on our behalf:
- Anthropic provides the AI model (Claude) that writes Kagami’s replies. Your messages, the relevant parts of your profile and saved records, and chart data are sent to Anthropic to produce each reply. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this data isn’t used to train its models.
- Supabase stores your account and data, and handles sign-in, including sending sign-in codes by email.
- Vercel hosts our websites and the chart engine, and provides the approximate location described above.
- Railway hosts the server that runs Kagami’s conversations.
- Google and Apple, only if you sign in with them, confirm your identity to us.
- Google Fonts delivers some typefaces on oracle.kagami.chat, so Google receives your IP address when those pages load.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
Cookies and local storage
We set one cookie, kagami-theme, which remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme across kagami.chat and oracle.kagami.chat. The app also keeps a few things in your browser’s local storage so it opens quickly: your session (so you stay signed in), your recent conversation list and profile, a question you typed before signing in, and display choices like the sidebar. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and everything in it until you delete it. Deleting a conversation deletes its messages and any shared link to it; what Kagami remembered from it stays until you delete it in Settings → Your data, delete your account, or ask us to remove it. Deleting your account removes all of your data from our database straight away, except a record of what each AI reply cost (the amount, the model and when), which no longer says whose it was. Copies may remain in our database provider’s backups for a short period before they’re overwritten, and server logs are kept by our hosting providers for a limited time and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Download your data: Settings → Your data → Download gives you everything stored for your account, as one file.
- See and delete what Kagami saved: Settings → Your data lists the people, charts, work, goals and memories saved from your chats. You can delete any of them there.
- Delete your account: Settings → Your data → Delete account removes it and all of its data.
- Correct something: tell Kagami in a chat (“my birth time is 3am”), or email dev@kagami.chatto have something corrected or removed.
You can also ask us by email to access, correct or delete your information, or to stop processing it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under data protection law, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Your settings are at oracle.kagami.chat/settings.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), reputable providers and per-user access rules in our database, and we limit who can access data. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information and will tell you about a breach that affects you where the law requires it.
Age
KAGAMI is for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, for example before we launch paid plans, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let signed-in users know.
